About Port St. Lucie Impact Windows Pros
Port St. Lucie Impact Windows Pros replaces and protects the openings of houses on the Treasure Coast: impact windows, impact entry and French doors, impact sliding glass doors, impact garage doors, and hurricane shutters of several kinds, including accordion shutters. Our work is residential. Commercial storefronts, curtain walls, high-rise condo glazing and new-construction framing are outside what we take on.
A storm-ready house is only as strong as its weakest opening. One unprotected slider or an old garage door can let wind pressure into the house even when every window is impact glass. So we look at the whole envelope, not just the window you called about, and we tell you which openings matter most if the budget only covers part of the house this year.
How a job runs
- We measure everything. Width, height, frame type, wall type (concrete block or wood frame), the existing shutter setup and any bedroom windows that must still work as emergency exits.
- We price it opening by opening. Each window or door has its own line, with the product, glass type and rated design pressure listed, so you can compare bids or phase the work.
- We handle the paperwork. The permit application, layout plan and Florida Product Approval documents go to the right building department, and the Notice of Commencement is recorded when the job value calls for one.
- We install and pass inspection. Openings come out and go back in the same day where possible, and the building inspector signs off before we call the job finished.
- You keep the records. Product approval numbers and the closed permit are what a wind mitigation inspector needs later, so you get copies.
What we will tell you plainly
If replacing glass only would solve your problem, we say so. If your opening needs to be enlarged or the wall reframed, that is a separate structural permit with engineered plans, and you will see that cost before anything is ordered.
